"We will decide on fiscal policy steps in boosting our economy in terms of consumption, investment, and in boosting the tourism sector, especially in Bali, North Sulawesi, and the Riau Islands where these tourist destinations are visited by many tourists. from China, "the President said.

The global spread of coronavirus has influenced many countries. For Indonesia, one of the sectors that are now quite affected by the outbreak is the tourism sector, which has recently become a particular concern.

"We know (the tourism sector) we are now facing pressure due to the decline in tourist visits," he added.

Related to this, the President instructed the domestic tourism industry to maximize and grow the tourism potential of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). The potential of MICE in Indonesia is still considered very large, considering that Indonesia has relatively attractive tourist attractions and a lot of both nature and culture and attractions in it.

"I also ask to maximize the activities of the domestic conference, MICE, in these areas," he said.

Furthermore, the Indonesian tourism sector must also promote itself and target foreign tourists who cancel trips to countries affected by the corona outbreak. Tourists from China who are one of the biggest contributors to foreign tourists in Indonesia are experiencing a decline. However, Indonesia can still take advantage of opportunities to find tourists from other countries.
